Getting Started

Welcome to Blindfold AI. This guide will help you install the application and get your first session running seamlessly.

1Installation & OS Setup

First, download the correct installation package for your operating system and CPU architecture from our download page. Once downloaded, follow the detailed setup instructions for your OS below:

macOS Setup

Blindfold AI is currently distributed as an unsigned `.dmg` file for Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) chips.

Step 1: Install

Double-click the downloaded `.dmg` file and drag Blindfold.app into your Applications folder.

Step 2: Clear Gatekeeper Quarantine (Edge Case Fix)

Since we don't have an Apple Developer license yet, macOS will say the app is "damaged" or "cannot be verified". Fix this in 5 seconds:

  1. Open the Terminal app.
  2. Run this exact command to clear the quarantine flag:
xattr -cr /Applications/"Blindfold.app"

Note: If your system renames it to "Blindfold.app" or something similar, make sure to use the exact name of the app inside your Applications folder (e.g. xattr -cr /Applications/"Blindfold.app").

Step 3: Enable Screen Recording Permission (Critical)

Because Blindfold AI works by securely reading the interview context directly from your screen, you must grant it Screen Capture permissions:

  1. Open System Settings on your Mac.
  2. Navigate to Privacy & Security > Screen Recording.
  3. Click the toggle or the + button to add and enable Blindfold AI.
  4. Relaunch the app for the settings to take effect.

Windows Setup

Windows users are highly recommended to use our official Microsoft Store package for the most seamless and secure setup.

Method A: Microsoft Store (Recommended)

Install directly from the Microsoft Store. This ensures the app is signed, updated automatically, and completely bypasses any SmartScreen or security blocks.

Method B: Direct .exe Installer (If the above method does not work)

You can download the fallback direct installer by clicking the button below:

  1. Run the downloaded `.exe` installer.
  2. If Windows Defender SmartScreen blocks it, click "More info" and then click "Run anyway" to complete the setup.

2Account Creation

Launch the application. You will be greeted by the login screen.

If you don't have an account, click "Sign Up" and follow the OTP verification process sent to your email. Once verified, you will have access to the dashboard.

Proceed to the "Configuring AI Providers" section to link your API keys.
